CrossBooks History Begins with LifeWay Christian Resources
LifeWay Christian Resources was established 1891 in Nashville, Tenn., by J.M. Frost, a 43-year-old pastor, in a corner of a newspaper office. With the approval of the Southern Baptist Convention, he launched what is today one of the world’s largest providers of Christian resources.
Today, the ministries of LifeWay Christian Resources touch lives throughout the United States and around the world. Those ministries include the production of Bibles, church literature, books, music, audio and video recordings, church supplies, and Internet services through LifeWay.com.
The company operates 154 LifeWay Christian Stores throughout the United States, as well as two of the largest Christian conference centers in the country. Through B&H Publishing Group, LifeWay Christian Resources offers one of the most accurate and readable translations of the Bible — The Holman Christian Standard Bible.
LifeWay Christian Resources is a religious nonprofit organization that receives no funding from the denomination and reinvests income above operating expenses in mission work and other ministries around the world.
LifeWay Christian Resources and its employees continue to be committed to the company vision: "As God works through us, we will help people and churches know Jesus Christ and seek His Kingdom by providing biblical solutions that spiritually transform people and cultures."
