LaForce Completes Book on Son's Life
Feb. 24, 2010 - After struggling with leukemia for over two years, Blake LaForce passed away in July, 2008. His father, Mark, decided to write Blake's story and publish it with CrossBooks. The book is composed of letters and essays from Blake's friends, lessons people learned from Blake, personal reflections from Mark about who his son was and the legacy Blake left behind.
A recent article published in the Vandalia Drummer News quoted Mark LaForce as saying, "Blake had an impact on a lot of people and their lives. Many people through E-mails, letters, face-to-face, and other channels of communication have told us that Blake really made a difference in their lives because he never wavered. He had faith. He was a Christian athlete. Before he even knew he had leukemia, he gave himself to the Lord. He wanted to get his peers, friends, and family even closer to God."

About the Book This is a true story about a Christian Athlete's purpose in life and how he accomplished God's mission. Blake Christiaan LaForce gave himself to the Lord, then asked how he could help show others the way, well before he was diagnosed with life threatening blood cancer; acute lymphoblastic leukemia. God had already been working through Blake, for quite some time, and soon after the diagnosis Blake knew why he was stricken with leukemia. Blake painfully and obediently realized he was chosen, because God had a plan and mission for him.
