Finding the Familiar in Faiths
February 3, 2012 - Robyn Lebron’s book, Searching for Spiritual Unity … Can There Be Common Ground?, may bring a little more peace to the world. The book outlines 40 faiths from around the world. The book started as a project for a Sunday School class. Lebron hoped to introduce her congregation to different religions, cultures and ethnic groups.
Lebron found that many religions had similarities. For instance, most religions have one supreme being.
“Most felt like there was something greater than ourselves. Most of the basic guidelines in the faiths was to strive to reach toward the one,” says Lebron. “The desire was to reach to that something bigger than ourselves.”
