Published by CrossBooks, a Division of LifeWay

CrossBooks is a Christian publishing company presenting a variety of Christian voices into the book market, from established authors to Christian leaders to first-time authors. Our books cover a wide range of topics, including: theology, Biblical studies, commentaries, church life, inspiration, fiction, children’s books and devotionals.

Theological Review

As a division of LifeWay Christian Resources, CrossBooks is dedicated to upholding the Christian faith and values our readers have come to expect. In order to uphold these values, we perform a Theological Review of every manuscript we receive. Included in each package, the Theological Review utilizes Biblical scholars who ensure the material is theologically sound and adheres to our Statement of Faith.

As an author, you can rest assured that after your manuscript passes our Theological Review it is theologically sound and you are ready to move forward with your publishing journey. In the case that a reviewer thinks part of a manuscript is in conflict with our Statement of Faith, the reviewer notifies the author and provides suggestions to resolve any conflicts.

The goal of the Theological Review is not to systematically deny authors from publishing with CrossBooks, but rather to give every CrossBooks author the confidence that their book is theologically sound and associated with a dedicated Christian publisher. The entire Theological Review process is designed to serve our authors and guarantee that their publishing journeys are successful.

Classic Cover Design

An original, eye-catching design is key to capture the attention of your target audience. With the Classic Cover Design, one of our expert graphic artists will design a powerful cover for your book guided by your ideas. Your designer can use photographs and abstract designs from our endless supply of stock images, or you can supply your own photos or artwork for the front of your cover. The Classic Cover Design also includes the back cover design for your book. You are responsible for writing the text for the back cover of the book, but your publishing consultant will work with you to make sure your back cover is free to errors and flows with the rest of your book. Consider including a short synopsis of your book, an author bio, an author photo and any recommendations your book may have received. Remember, the front and back cover of your book is the first thing interested readers will notice when they pick up your book.

Softcover

All of our softcover books are considered trade paperbacks, an industry term that tells readers the paperback is produced with higher quality than mass-market paperbacks.  Printed with high-quality ink on acid-free paper, our trade paperbacks are produced at a larger size with a higher selling price. We offer our black and white softcover books in three sizes: 5”x 8”, 6”x 9” and 8.25” x 11”. Our color books come in two sizes: 8.5”x 8.5” and 8.5”x 11”. Click here for more information on book sizes.

Custom Interior Formatting

One of our professional book-layout specialists will create a custom interior for your book. The first proof copy of your galley will be available for your review, so you're always in control of your work.

Our custom interior design includes the professional layout of your images/tables/formulae (up to the number included in your package), minimal manuscript cleanup, and the layout of your text, title page, chapters and page numbers. For more complex formatting needs or manuscript cleanup, your design team will discuss any additional production costs that may incur, including the following: additional image insertions; manual hard returns; manual headers/footers; footnotes; manual formatting; or image manipulation such as color matching, image replacement, size/resolution adjustment.
