A Library of Congress Control Number makes your book more attractive to the more than 5,000 libraries located throughout the United States. This unique number is used to catalog books in the Library of Congress, the largest library in the world, located in Washington, D.C.
Next Steps
During the publishing process, we'll obtain your Pre-assigned Control Number, or PCN, a specific type of LCCN. It typically only takes five business days to receive your LCCN, so it doesn't delay the production process. Your book designer will place your unique number on the copyright page of your book. After your book is published, a printed copy of your book will be sent directly to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. as is required.
